The Story

Picture a Saturday morning where every bite is from here.

Eggs from down the road. Greens pulled this morning from a farm you can actually visit. Lamb raised on the same hills you hike. Salt Spring already has the soil, the climate, and the people — what's been missing is the map that connects it all. That's what we're building: a living picture of what this island grows, so we can close the gap between what we produce and what we eat.

01
See what we actually grow Farm by farm, we're building the first real inventory of Salt Spring's food production — what's here, how much, and where it ends up.
02
Know where we're vulnerable Every bag of fertilizer on the ferry is a dependency. We track what comes from off-island so we can find ways to keep it local — soil to shelf.
03
Put a face on your food Meet the farmers, see what they grow, and buy directly. This isn't a directory — it's the start of a food community that actually works.

Eat Local, Build Community

You don't need a farm to change the food system.

Every resident who commits to buying local sends a signal — to farmers, to makers, to the whole island — that the demand is real. Sign up and we'll send you updates as the network grows, small local challenges to keep you engaged and supporting local food producers, and where to find them!
